Gacetilla-InglesFrames can mosh too! This project aims to make/produce the video clip of the song "El Rogadero" of the band "Banda de Turistas" using the Datamoshing technique.* Will form several working groups, each of them will carry out a process step to achieve the final video. The video will be done by the group Clandestina Weekend Nerd (CWN). It will gather several workgroups, each of one of them will take a part of the process until making the final video.* All video production & making-of will be recorded and it will help as a diffusion material over the net.* Motivos Reasons* This joint project arises from the proposal that receives Aliaviu (Martin Borini) to make the video clip of Banda de Turistas. This offer is accepted and Martín suggested that video production could be done on a collaborative way between CWN members. Weeks earlier, a laptop computer was stole from a member of the group at an event in which CWN participated. Given this situation, there were various options to help recover the machine. Among them, the possibility arises to allocate / provide the money received by the video, to assist in the purchase. This act of generosity, besides to show a human quality, represent / reveals the way in which things are done within the CWN. It is side by side, on the other, for the sole purpose of doing something that has a meaning, whether artistic, for fun, for financial reasons, among many other reasons can be cited. Process creation / production of the video Once the idea was launched in the CWN group, all members volunteered to participate and collaborate throughout the process. While not everyone knew or had worked with the technique of Datamoshing, it began the circulation of information, from tutorials to videos with this technique. All this information will be centralized in the wiki (database / open knowledge used by CWN) where it is available to all. To organize the work, the groups will formed themselves based on knowledge and the time availability of each person. Each of these groups will be assigned specific tasks in each of the steps planned for the video Datamoshing is an effect achieved from generating errors in the video, altering keyframes from a video. The moshing or mosh is also known as "a type of dance characterized by jumping and pushing others to the rhythm of music" (wikipedia). So in this video, all images jump and mingle, creating an aesthetic where this disorder / these errors open the door to new images. The first activities to be carried out to film the video are: the camera tests and effects and video footage of the band. Then, this material will be published and will be divided into blocks, which are distributed among the groups to work on the video moshing. This video will be completed during the first weeks of January. The whole process will be recorded to produce, later on, a diffusion video to CWN. What is Misiones Cortas Clandestina Weekend Nerd?* Misiones Cortas Clandestina Weekend Nerd appears as "An intensive three-day camp where open classes will be taught with topics related to electronics, programming, design, new media, communication, among others. Students will turn into teachers and teachers into students." This is proposed as an area of horizontal exchange, where all are students and all are teachers. It relies on complementary capabilities, "You know what I know and vice versa" and a free flow of information. CWN emerged in 2008, with a nerd camp in Mar del Plata, where only about 15 people participated. From that meeting until today, CWN has over +400 members, constituting a very large technology-nerd-friendly network. Networks have a target, or several, in this case, the objective of CWN is making knowledge a free good, available to all, to create joint projects related to new technologies. A network is more robust as the child nodes can establish contact with his members. CWN has his nerd camps, and 4 were conducted, a google group, which is the permanent communication link between his members, and now also added a wiki, as a knowledge base, where anyone who wants can add and / or modify information. So far, the definition of CWN is not very different from any network as for the exchange information and knowledge. What is then, the main feature that makes CWN an unique network? The way each of its members live and makes use of it (in the good meaning of the word). For each of the 403 members of CWN is a particular way of inhabiting the network. However, all agree in the spirit of friendship always there, allowing a collective growth, to share, to learn and to respect others. CWN, as a network could create a sense of belonging in each of its members, membership of which is reproduced in the same practices that the network generates. Encountering a "clandestino", is to smile and be known for a fellow, with someone with whom you share a space, codes, and the feeling of being part of a whole. Thus the proposal of this video clip to accompany this collective-making spirit, to create without boundaries and move forward.
